Replica of William Katavolos 1960s leather sling T chair
_
‘In the 1950's three men (William Katavolos, Douglas Kelley & Ross Littell) created a piece of furniture called the T chair. All graduates of the Pratt Institute in New York, the guys enjoyed a 6 year partnership designing textiles, dinnerware and furniture at Laverne which was established in 1938. A elegant and sturdy three-legged chrome and leather frame support the ever so comfortable, sling type seat. So popular in fact that in 1952, the T chair won the A.I.D. award as the best furniture design in America. One chair resides in the permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and several other top-ranked museums.’
